Drag a pupil onto a seat โ€” or click a pupil, then click a seat to place them there.

How to use

1. Add your pupils. Paste or type your class list into the pupil list box (one name per line) and click "Update pupil list". Set the number of rows and seats per row, then click "Update layout" to draw the seating grid.

Method 1 โ€” drag and drop: Click and hold a pupil chip in the pupil bank, drag it onto any seat, and let go. Drop a pupil onto an occupied seat to swap the two pupils. Drag a seated pupil back onto the pupil bank area to un-place them.

Method 2 โ€” click to place (works with a keyboard, switch device, or touch screen โ€” no dragging needed): Click (or press Enter/Space when focused) a pupil chip in the bank to select them โ€” they'll get a gold highlight. Then click any seat to place them there. If you click a seat that already has a pupil, the two pupils swap places. You can also click an already-seated pupil to select them instead, then click a different seat to move them, or use the "Return to bank" button that appears to un-seat them.

Other tools: "Randomise seating" gives every pupil a random seat in one click โ€” handy as a quick starting point. "Clear seating" empties every seat but keeps your pupil list and layout. "Clear all" wipes the pupil list and seating for this class too. "Save plan" stores your current layout and seating; it's also saved automatically each time you make a change, and reloads automatically the next time you open this class.

Use "+ New class" to start a fresh class, or switch between saved classes using the dropdown at the top. Use "Print" for a clean printable seating chart with no buttons or controls.
