KS2 Reading Comprehension Practice

30+ original passages across eight genres, testing the full range of reading skills examiners look for: retrieval, inference, vocabulary, prediction, summarising, author's language and sequencing. The skill each question is testing is revealed after you answer, so you learn to recognise question types as well as answer them.

How Marking Works Here

Multiple-choice questions have one clearly correct answer and are marked automatically, with a full explanation shown either way. Short-response questions cannot be marked automatically -- instead, pupils compare their own answer against a model answer and the supporting evidence, encouraging them to check their own reasoning rather than chase a single "correct" wording. The Reading Skills Summary only shows a percentage for skills that were tested with objectively-marked multiple-choice questions during that session.
